The Central Vancouver Island Crime Stoppers (CVICS) shredding event held Saturday September 6, 2025, at Country Grocer on Bowen Road, exceeded all expectations and was a huge success.
At the end of the day, almost $7000 was raised from the shredding and BBQ. “Fund raisers for non-profit organizations are not possible without the cooperation and participation of community minded organizations and people,” said R/Cst Gary O’Brien Nanaimo RCMP Crime Stoppers Coordinator. A big shout out goes to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff and management of Country Grocer for allowing CS to use their parking lot for the shredding event and for providing the food and condiments for the BBQ- thank you.
Another shout out goes to Record Express who year after year, professionally and confidentially shred the approximately 2 tons of documents. And lastly, to the Board of Directors of CVICS and their dedicated volunteers- great work.
