Nanaimo file # 2020-11201

The Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 26-year-old David Arlen Thomas, who is wanted for Break and Enter, and two counts of Breaching the terms of his probation. Thomas is considered violent and should not be approached.

The warrant stems from an incident on March 23rd, 2020 in which Thomas allegedly attempted to break into the home of a female in north Nanaimo, with whom he had had a previous relationship with. A news release was previously issued detailing this incident. The female fled and Thomas was not located by attending officers. Since that time, investigators have been unable to locate Thomas and believe that he is actively evading police.

On June 7th 2020 its alleged Thomas again, broke into the same home while the female was present. She managed to flee but was chased by Thomas who reportedly dislodged bear spray at her. She was not seriously injured and Thomas fled on his bicycle before police arrived.

“These were terrifying experiences for the female and it appears the violence is escalating. We are doing what we can to help with her personal safety and we are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Thomas and to hold him accountable for his actions”, said Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP

Thomas is Indigenous, 5 ft.7, 140 pounds and the picture provided is recent. Of note, Thomas has a very distinctive tattoo on his outer left forearm which spells INDIAN.
